Timber construction requires smart connections
As specialists in construction anchoring, we understand that wood is a living material — it moves and demands specific fastening solutions. Think of edge distances, flexibility, and custom fitting. Especially with façade-filling timber frame (HSB) elements, it’s crucial to consider the right fastening method already in the design phase.
The cavity between an insulated HSB inner leaf and a brick outer façade is often just four to five centimeters. For this, GB offers extra-thin cavity wall ties (ø 3 mm) that allow movement without stressing the outer wall.

At HoutPro+ we’re showcasing our extensive range — from classic beam hangers to innovative anchoring solutions for CLT constructions. “We’ve always been active in timber construction,” says Arjan van Termeij, Project Leader for Technology and Development at GB. “But the rise of timber building systems has also inspired us to develop new products, such as Floor-HSB strips, embedded lintel anchors, and CLT anchors.”

Our solutions are tailored to real-world applications. For example, we’ve developed CLT anchors with larger screw holes (Ø6 mm and Ø8 mm) than typically found in conventional systems. This allows for the same performance with fewer screws and reduced installation time — making it both efficient and sustainable.
